First off if you read my blog and you ain't got a spot on SoulVegFolk ya playing yourself. We definitely getting our Builds on and networking on. (To my Soul Veg NYC folk I'm coming...ha). Come be down. Ya know ya wanna be.
Now. For you edumacational folk I got treats...word.
The first link is from Sunshine the Dreadlock Nomad. Oh yeah..check it, Nutritional Anthropology.
Now, sit down, the second one...take your time and READ and let's Build. It reinforces my stance that we have resources of our own that we don't even know about. Yet just like they went and raped the part of Asia called Africa of gold, diamonds and oil if they find out about 'this' they'll take that too. We have to realize that we have the means to feed ourself. This applies to this information that i am about to drop (calm down) and in general what is in our own communities. The trader has us thinking that there is more gold in another country. Our own country is when we are in tune with ourself. That's why I"m Asiatic. As I At I C. Many of us cannot C the resources in ourself or our community. Thus another 'man' takes us out of that state of being and exploits the resources that we are too blind to see.

By the way...how is your home?

You can make your home a more self contained eco-system. When things around you operate in cycles it is easier for you to see how in your interpersonal relationships you can do the same. So before I make my grand move West I have been doing so here on the Eastcoast and drawing up a plan on how I will do so in the West regardless of whether it is in a house or apartment.
First. Recycle your plastic, glass, and metal. Stop being lazy and stupid.
I built a homemade composting bucket in my backyard. It's fairly simple and I now have nice rich soil being manifested for my tomato garden. Via composting you can basically recycle all of your organic trash (that means food, paper, etc). Now this bucket is outside yet you can rock a smaller one inside with worms (don't get all girly-man on me) that can perform the same function. You can get nice with it (if you're the person of said ability like me) and do a science experiments with your babies. (Wait God..draw it up mathematically). This is also the science of entering into a relationship with a Blackwoman (who is made into the Earth). God Builds with her. He isn't repelled by the poor parts of her or those parts that she is afraid of, ashamed of. He just doesn't care for them in that he doesn't nourish them. What he does though is provide a sheltered quiet spot (closing up that 'garbage in a container) where he can then show her how to bring forth the best part. That which she thought was garbage is transformed into something beautiful. Cause ain't the Earth beautiful ;-) Check out the easy outdoor DIY Compost bin (ignore the 'girlistic website please)
Next thing that I made myself the last week is a solar powered dehydrator. Yes indeed. I'm all about Sol Power. Always have been. I like sun dried fruits...especially berries. I put them all up in trail mixes with my seeds and stuff. I made an ILL batch of dehydrated cherries the other day. (Draw it up mathematically God). Why is that dehydrated fruit so sweet? Fruit is symbolic to Understanding which is the best part and is preserved. God draws the water up from the Earth. He communicates with her. He is so clear in his actions in that he is a living example of being her support. She can see who he is. Ain't that sweet. Make your own DIY solar powered dehydrator

Rock the Mic right!

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL OF THOSE WHO CAME OUT TO THE GREEN GHETTO JOINT AND SUPPORTED! I was humbled to say the least. For those who don't know the Green Ghetto joint grew out of a sort of May Day after party that goes down in CT. This year we decided to run with it our way. We donate the $1.00/head funds toward hood gardens. We raised some gold y'all!
Now for those that weren't there...sorry. We tore sh#t up (and put it back cause we be dealing with composting like that). Now I've done poetry tours before yet singing with the Afrobeat Collective I felt like a rockstar. We started at sundown with me mixing in a siren from Fairfield and J on his sax wailing. Now the science is that that siren sound I sampled has been going off for years in Fairfield and everyone forgot that it's because it was a Sundown Town ie..where you darkies have to get out before sundown..thanks for working for us. They STILL have the siren though. Then we RIPPED into our cut "Black God, Black Earth" (and the crowd went wild!). Then we mixed in Asun Unique's (Peace to the God) Shimmy Shimmy Y'all. The part where he is saying..oh baby I like it raw. And I built with the crowd a minute while I urged them to go check out the exotic fruit taste table and come back and hold your fruit in the air....RIDICULOUS!!!!! And the house came DOWN when we did a cover of Fela Suffering and Smiling. Maaaaannnnnn. Green Gangsta rockstar..rflmao.
Other random joint. I work as a cook in a vegetarian cafe and a chef in a vegetarian restaurant. The restaurant of course is a little more 'upscale' (I get to listen to classical Indian music...FRESH..and the owners are actually Indian..what a concept). Anyway...I got to make a dish with buzz buttons the other day. Try one if you come across them...interesting.

Yes I sing.

Peace. Yes the God sings. Not that many people know it. For a glimpse of this if you are in New Haven this Saturday night check out the Green Ghetto joint at Lakeview park. I'll be performing with the New Haven Afrobeat Collective. They'll be Ital food served by Macabee's kitchen and Right Foods served by the Gods and Earths. Come through.

Just to let you know
I know some raw foodist who are self centered and think only of their selves. I know some vegans who will hug a tree yet will pass a child in the ghetto without giving them a ounce of compassion. Let me dispel the myth that changing your diet will automatically change your persona. Hitler was a vegetarian. Conscious means that you are aware. All consciousness needs an adjective in front of it. That's why the term 'conscious rapper' is an oxymoron. A 'gangsta' rapper is conscious about his environment and surroundings. If you want to be righteous not eating meat will not automatically make you so. You have to consciously embark on that journey. And by the way, changing your eating habits does not make you better then anyone though you may be better off then them.
I mentioned before there are some terms that I just don't like using and as of this moment I am getting rid of one. Vegan. My main reason is that it is 'animal-centric'. The overall push is for compassion for animals vs. people. Also, there are indigenous concepts and realities that predate it's 'conception' in 1944. Finally, I have too often experienced a Eurocentric-racist twist to veganism that I am not comfortable with. So yes, the name of the blog is going to change slightly.
I also made Knowledge Born about that I was going to start a list of terminology for folks. Well. Here it is.
Plant Centered Diet: Where vegetables, fruits, seeds, nuts, beans, etc are the central focal point of one's diet. So called 'vegetarians' who eat dairy and/or fish/fowl may fall into this category.
Pure Vegetarian: A 'so called vegan' who doesn't consume animal products. They do not necessarily carry the philosophy of 'veganism'
Green Gangsta: One who is concerned with bringing eco-consciousness to the urban community in a manner in which Original people can digest it and not be put off by it. Also concerned with selecting appropriate green and fresh technologies.
More definitions will come.
Also, a couple of Queens have been getting on me about being stingy so I'll drop more recipes.
This is a quick morning drink/shot that I take often. The morning time is when your body is involved in elimination. I've mentioned before that I like OJ because..well. I just do. Citrus fruits are good for oxygenating the blood and cleaning out stuff like mucus. So sometimes what I also take is a shot of what I call my 'sun shot' also. It's simple. Squeeze one lime and one lemon. Mix in some water and grated ginger. It gives you dragon's heart or rather your blood and heart will be stimulated. It's tart, sour and bitter. So if you want to sweeten it up add a little agave nectar, date sugar or maple syrup. I like it straight and raw.

Raising the Rod and Burning Bush Tea
Peace,For those of my tree in the Nation we Raise the Rod in the month of May. This month I am raising the rod on several different particles that I am just keeping to myself at this time yet the focus is on.
In order to keep my word on something I dropped back here is my 'treat' for all the 420 heads. My 'Burning Bush Tea'.
Ingredients
*lime
*mango
*base tea (I use a black or red tea)
*Everclear
*'buds'
*Agave Nectar.
Use a juicer or rock it old fashion and get the juice from the fruit.
Now with Everclear stick some buds u in there. You have to let it steep in the dark for several weeks. I usually do it for a month at least.
Get that tea ready.
Rub a thin layer of agave nectar around the inside of the lip of the cup.
Pour in that juice and put a shot of the 'green nectar' in there. And if you're really feeling it...light it on fire for a brief sec.
Peace
